Hi! It's Time for a Verse From the Kinh Thanh!

Kinh Thanh is the Vietnamese name for the Bible. Today's verses is Ephesians 6:2-3. "2) Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;  3) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth." These verse are saying that we should obey our parents. Sound simple, right? Well, consider the fact that true obediance is obeying right away, without complaints or thoughts of complaints, and doing the entire job. The three characteristics of obeying I learned when I was young, but I still have trouble obeying the right way. We will always have trouble because of the sin nature we are born with, but we can always do our best for God. This commandment is the commandment that to talking about your relationship with other people. The ones before this commandment talks about our responsibility to God. God wants us to respect the authority that He has put over us unless the authority tells us to disobey God. God also wants us to be thankful for what we have. Asians, like myself, come from hard-working families. some are stricter than others. My mom is very strict, but without her, I wouldn't be in the school I'm in, get the grades that I get, or lots of other things. Besides, my mom is the person who gave birth to me. She and my dad are the ones who took care of me and provided for me when I was helpless. Shame on you if you mock your parents because their not "cool" or something like that. Your mom went through pain to give birth to you, your dad worked hard to provide for your family. Those who come from Christian families should be ashamed. You're parents may sink to their knees every night and pray for your safety. Those who are adopted should be thankful for hte new family that you have. You could've stayed in an orphanage and known what it was like to have a family. I can't say I know how everyone who is reading this. I can't say I know how they think and act about their parents. I just hope they realize, especially Christians, that they are hurting the people that love them more than anything. Some will say, "My parents hate me and are really mean." God placed you in that situation for a reason. Be patient and see what He has in store for you. If you're His child, it's something good. If you're not, you won't have that comforting thought. Please, appreciate your parents because one day, they may not be there.
