Hey! What's up! Alrighty then, here's chapter 5. Don't worry. If you've been bored with my story, let me assure you that it will get more exciting soon. Hopefully. Sigh. Anyway, on to the recap! Recap: Percy has just come to the Steels' mansion and soon after that the family was indangered by a hired assassin. Serge, the huge doorman/chauffeur/bodyguard, gave the smaller man a beating and Josh and Percy agree to stay up and look to see if the man has friends. Remember that? Onwards!
Chapter 5: Captured!
Percy, Josh, and Serge found no one else lurking around the mansion that night. The next day, Josh and Percy dragged the hog-tied assassin to Josh's car. "Are you sure you want him in your car?" Percy asked. "I'd be happy to take him for you."
Josh shook his head. "But I wouldn't be. It's fine. You saved my life, so I might as well drive with an assassin in my car." They shoved the other man in with difficulty. Josh turned to the Steel family as they watched the procedure. "We'll be back sometime this afternoon, hopefully. Just do what you need to do, and don't forget to change the passcode."
Kyle took a step forward. "There has to be something else we can do."
Amy nodded. "There is little bro. We start questioning all those that look suspicious."
"But I'm not good at that." Kyle groaned.
"Well, be glad that your sister's a reporter. I know who to ask questions to, what questions to ask, and how to get the answers. Sure, this isn't interviewing, but it's still asking questions. I'm good at that."
"Alright, be careful." Josh said as he got into the car.
At HQ, they bagan their interrogation. Sadly, the man was terrfied of his employer so much that he wouldn't say anything besides, "Aagh, umph, regh." After hours of interrogation methods, he gave up. But not the way you'd expect. Instead of giving up the info he knew, he managed to grab an officer's gun and was soon targeted by Percy, Josh, and their collegue George.
"Put the gun down." George said firmly, staring hard at him. The man didn't move.
"Please cooperated. You'll live longer." Josh said. Percy nodded his agreement while nervously glancing back and forth from the assassin and his friends.
"NEVER!" the assassin screamed loudly before placing the gun next to his temple.
"Stop!" Josh yelled trying to grab the gun. He was a few seconds too late. A loud bang erupted from the room. "He's dead." Josh whispered. "He killed himself." Percy shook his head sadly.
George nodded solemly before turning to Percy. "You need to disguise yourself as him."
Percy looked stunned. "M-me?"
"Yes, you. You're about the same height and size as Blackie over here. Same hair and eye color, but keep your head covered to make sure."
Josh stood up. "Even though that comment was kind of rude, I agree. I don't like it, but I agree."
Percy shrugged. "Alright. Let's do it."
Those words sealed his fate. As Percy snuck down the alley next to an abandoned warehouse, he attached a tiny two-way walkie-talkie like thing under the collar of the black shirt. In one of the hidden pockets of the shirt, Josh had found a small piece of paper telling the time and place of the meeting that Percy planned to infultrate. Stepping as quietly as he could, he slipped into the building. The rickety walls made his footsteps seem softer than they really were, which was a good thing. As he walked, he found a small group of men all dressed like him waiting in a corner. "Rico! What took you so long?" Percy mearly grunted and sat down.
"Alright Jack, what's da rich boss's job dis time." asked the second man to Paul.
Jack grunted. "Since Rico here killed the big man of the house, the next target is the wife. Even you should be able to figure that out, Leo."
Leo rolled his eyes. The figure who had been silent the whole time now stepped up behind Percy. "Well, boss said that Rico was killed in the attempted to kill his boss." Percy froze. "Too bad that the boss is one of your buddies Detective Weathers."
"Heh, you think you got us fooled? Wrong! Nice job sneaking behind him Harry." Percy felt Harry's arms crush the air out of him. Jack contiued to laugh.
"All we gotta do now is hold ya fa ransom. Your wittle deputy'll come cryin' to us in no time." said Leo joining in on the mockery. His thick southern accent made it really hard to understand him. Percy's eyes narrowed as Leo stepped up to him. "Well, looky here. Looks like we've got some youngin' spyin' on us." He yanked the walkie-talkie out of the collar and spoke into it. "If yall want your wittle buddy back. Ya'll come here n' give us 25 grand." With that, he crushed the walkie-talkie under his boot.
The group laughed again before knockng Percy unconscious. They dragged his body out of the building and stuffed him into the trunk of their car and quikcly drove away.
