Are You Ready?

On one of my other pages, I am discussing the endtimes. Some will wonder,  "How can I prepare for these horrible events?" The answer is to get saved. I believe that once you have heard the gospel before the endtimes, you won't get a second chance afterwards because you've already rejected God several times. If you are saved, you don't even have to worry about the Tribulation. You'll be up with my friends and I enjoying the Marriage Supper (dicussed in the other page). In an earlier post, I explained the great sacrifice made by both the Father and the Son to allow us to get saved. If you don't appreciate what Christ and God the Father went through, I sugggest you read that post again before you read on. So, "How does someone get saved?" That, my friend, is the most important question you will every ask.
You're a Sinner
You have sinned. You have to believe that. Not just, "Yeah, I know I did some bad things..." NO! Not like that! YOu have to realize that you are sinning and completly ignoring teh great sacrifice Jesus made by hanging and suffering on the cross. You have to realize what agony that He went through. You have to realize that He loved you so much that He didn't care how much He had to give in order for ou to receive eternal life. How could you ignore a selfless Savior that gave up everything just to save a rotten, selfish, ignorant, wicked, unworthy, filthy sinner like you? He had the perfect home and life, and He gave it up. I realized the immense sacrifice He had and burstinto tears. If you truly believe, the guilt will drive you into begging for forgivenss or at least asking God to forgive you urgently and longingly.
You Can't Save Yourself
You can't do anything to save yourself. The price of sin is death. Someone must die for your sins, and Christ did. He bore everyone's sins and died in shameful agony. You didn't lift a finger to earn your salvation, and don't you dare try to say you did. God gave up His ONLY Son! His perfect, loving, begotten, Son! How could you not accept the fact that both God the Father and God the Son had given up so much to save you? Why can't you see that? Can't you see the happiness and the difference in Christians' lives? Christ paid the price. His Father had to turn His back on Him, but He still did it. He could have stepped down from the cross and left, but He endured the whole punishment and died and rose again three days later. How can you refuse that kind of unconditional love?
God's FREE Gift
God has given you the free gift of salvation through the pain of suffering of His Son. All you need to do is accept it. God knows if you will take it or not. God knows if He is going to throw you into the lake of fire (discussed in the revelation pages) or embrace you in New Jerusalem (also discussed in revelation pages). You aren't doing anything. I'm not doing anything. God is doing everything. God is making you read this. God is making you think about it for a while at least. He is making me type this. He is in control. Why wouldn't you just give in to His loving call? It is FREE. We all like that word right? Free. Once we accept the free gift, we'll be free from the bonds that tie us to hell. No one wants to go there right? It is a horrible place where you'll be tormented until you get tossed into the lake of fire and tormented for eternity. Accept it. Embrace it. Don't run away from the God that created you and gave you life. Don't run from the God that loves you so much to give up His Son.
He Is the Only God
God is the only God you should serve. It doesn't have to be a wooden statue doinga weird pose to be an idol. Movie stars, money, clothes, fame, things like that can be idols. If you love them more than you love God, you aren't trusting in God. He isn't in first place in your heart. He needs to be. He did wonderful works to prove to you that He cares. You can't just gnore the fact because this is more fun, or this is more helpful. That is Selfish with a capital S. God knows what you will choose. The question is will you make the right choice? We humans don't know very much. God is all powerful, all knowing, and is everywhere. You can't hide anything from Him, not even your thoughts. Trust Him and when the you go to heaven, the things you supposedly "missed out on" will be nothing compared to the rewards you'll receive from Him.
A Simple Prayer
Are you ready to make the decision. Please don't wait too long. You don't know how long God will keep you alive. Any one of us could be dead tomorrow. I'm not going to pressure you. I have tracts on a page. If you want a senario to go with the message to help make it clear, go right ahead. If you are ready to accept Christ, thank the Lord Almighty for softening your heart. Here's a simple prayer that you don't have to say word for word. It would be best if you spoke from the heart. My salvation prayer went something like this.
"Dear Lord, I know that I'm a sinner. I know that You love me. Please forgive me for the horrible sins I've done against you. I'm sorry so so sorry that I hurt you. I'm sorry for taking this long to realize this. Please save me. I beg of you. I believe that You will hear my prayer. I believe that You can do anything. I believe that Your Son came to die on the cross. Please save. Please, please. I beg of you. I know I'm not worthy. Make me your child like my friends. Give me peace and courage to be like your Son. Save me Lord. Please. In Jesus name I pray. Amen."
I was silently sobbing in my chair as I prayed this in the FMA in Bob Jones Universiy. I cried because of the guilt and the sorrow of my multitude of sins. I cried in dispair that I've lived in a lie. You may not have the same situations I do, but still pray and ask God to save you. Tell Him that you believe His Son has died, was buried, and rose again. Tell Him that you're sorry for your sins. Tell Him that you know you aren't worthy. Tell Him those things with a sincere heart, and you'll be part of our family. Once you do, I'm happy to say, "Welcome brother or sister. Welcome to the family."
