Are You Wondering?

Good day, night, or afternoon. If you are a Christian and you keep doubting that you are saved, this list is made of you. I too had many, many, and about 100 more manys doubts about if I was saved. I finally got it settled with God on August 31, 2010. I know, not that long ago, huh. You'd expect some long life Christian to be typing this stuff, but if you're really saved, you won't keep your mouth shut about God. You will keep talking until someone tells you to stop. That's one evidence: a desire to win souls for Christ,  a wanting for others to experience what you have, and a love for your Savior's wonderful works. Here's a list of things that I am also working to put in practice in my life. If you are doing 5 or more things on here, you're on tract. Keep trying to grow. If you have 4 or less, I would go to your pastor and ask for some more information about true salvation.  Ask your pastor or email me, I would gladly explain the points with you. These points aren't mine. These were given to me by my seventh grade Bible teacher, Mr. Sowers. Maybe it's just that you were too young to put it in use. Start now. It's only too late when you have died.
Twelve Scriptural Evidences of Salvation
1. An event and a change ~ "Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." II Corinthians 5:17.
2. An awareness and obedience to do right and avoid wrong ~ "And hereby we do know that we know him, it we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him." I John 2:3-4   "For ye are sometimes darkness, but now ye are light in the Lord." Ephesians 5:8    "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the Sons of God." Romans 8:14
3. A desire to become more like Christ ~ "But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall and man pluch them out of my hand." John 10:26-28
4. A desire to win friends and relatives to Christ ~ "For the Scriptures saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed." Romans 10:11   "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of hte Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:" Matthew 28:19-20
5. Social pressure from those who are not Christians ~ "Love not hte world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not with him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father but of the world. And the word passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever." I John 2:15-17
6. A love for other Christians ~ "We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the breathren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death." I John 3:14    "Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemingly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things" I Corinthians 13:4-7
7. Confirmation from the Holy Spirit ~ "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:"  Romans 8:16
8. A new desire and understanding of God's Word ~ "As newborn babes desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:" I Peter 2:2
9. Fruitfulness ~ "Herein is my Father glorified, ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples." John 15:8    "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentlness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23
10. Confirmation from the body of Christ ~ "Beware of false prophets that come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits." Matthew 7:15-16
11. A prayerful life ~ Confess your faults to one another, and pray for one another, that ye might be healed. The effectual prayer of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:16    "Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for it is the will of God in Jesus Christ concerning you." I Thessalonians 5:17-18     "Brethren, pray for us." I Thesalonians 5:25 (Also read, I Timothy 2:8, Acts 1:14, Ephesians 6:18, and Philippians 4:6)
12. A Joyfulness for the Lord evidenced by singing to the Lord ~ "Serve the Lord with gladness: come into his presence with singing." Psalm 100:2      "Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom:teaching and admonishing one anotherin psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with gracein your hearts to the Lord." Colossians 3:16

Once you've read this over and thought about it, also read Matthew 13:18-23. It talks about hearing and understanding. One hears and understands but doesn't do it. The other hears, understands, and does it. Which one are you?
