A Greater Poison chapter 4

Hey1 Chapter 4 is here! I can't believe I'm actually keeping up with the updating! Usually, I get behind after the first two days. This is a new record! Anyway, onward to the tale! Sorry, that was medival. Come on, let's go to that story guys. There that's more modern. :o) Recap: Josh caught Amy when she was spying on him. Amy and Kyle argue and Amy leaves without telling Josh why she was spying...hmm. As Josh comtinues to investigate the family and house, Percy drives up the driveway and gets out of the car. Let's find out what happens next.

Chapter 4: Percy Attracts Trouble
"Percy!" Josh said walking up to the younger man. Percy smiled and shook his hand firmly. "I'm glad you're here."
"I'm glad to be here." Percy replied and turned to the confuzzled family. (I always wanted to use that word in a story. Sorry! Expect other strange words.) "I'm Percy Taber, Josh's assistant."
The Steels smiled, well, except for Amy. "Please come in." Mrs Steel said.
With that, Percy was introduced into the household. One week after Percy came to the mansion, a rustling could be heard from the roof. A shadowy figure leans over the skylight. Opening his laptop, he uses the passcode his employer gave him to override the system. Within the house, the alarms turned off, the hidden lasers turned off, and all the other multiple traps turned off. Underneath the black cloth mask, the villain smirked in victory. He quickly cut open the skylight and placed the cut glass to the side with his gloved hands. leaning over the edge, he heard the peaceful snores of the family. He also heard the footsteps of the guards on duty including the massive bodyguard/doorman/chauffeur, Serge. Not wanting to get in a wrestling match with a seven foot, 200 pound man that was pure muscle and bone, the rouge waited till the steps died away before swinging down. Landing lightly on his feet, he slinked down the hallway. As he approached Mr. and Mrs. Steel's room, he pulled something out of the small pouch he carried. The faint moonight reflected off the needle's point as he licked the lock. Slipping silently into the room, he approached Mr. Steel. Mr. steel's snores covered the slight clink coming from the hallway. The assassin was about to inject the polonium when a massive fist collided into the back of his head. Staggering forward, he placed his gloved hands on the bed to stop his fall, but he woke up Mrs. Steel. "Ahhhhhhh!" Mrs. Steel screamed.
Mr. Steel was jolted awake and bonked his head on the trespasser's. The trespasser struggled to keep his grip on the needle, but Serge gripped his wrist so hard that it cut off all crculation. Josh and Percy rushed in, and Josh kicked the air out of the inturder's lungs while Percy carefully caught the falling needle. Serge smacked the man's temple. The black robed figure crumpled to the ground unconscience.
"What is going on here?" Mr. Steel roared over the chaos. By this time, Amy and Kyle had arrived on the scene.
Serge bowed apologetically. "I saw this man enter the house through the skylight. I was to far away from him at the moment, but I moved to catch up with him. He was fast though. By the time I caught up, he was already in here."
Mrs. Steel smiled weakly. "It's alright, Serge. At least you stopped him. If it weren't for you, this entire household would be dead."
Josh shook his head. "I hate to tell you this Mrs. Steel, but you told my yourself that only members of the household knew the passcode to the security system. As I ran down the halls with Percy, every alarm, camera, and laser was off."
Kyle choked down a gasp. "Does that mean one of the electricians are on the murder's side?"
Percy placed a hand on his shoulder. "I'm afriad so. In the morning, Josh and I will do an interrogation of this man at HQ. Right, Josh?"
Josh nodded. "Whatever we can't find out from him, we'll find out by infiltration. I'll find an agent to disguise himself as this man, but right now, everyone needs some peaceful sleep. Percy and I will take turns helped Serge look out for more of the black robes."
